As 2016 comes to an end, The Solmar Group celebrates another year of accomplishments and exciting new projects. This year, our brand was honored to receive two Condé Nast Traveler's Readers Choice Awards; Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa was ranked number 13 and Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa came in at number 23 for the "Top Resorts in Mexico (Pacific Coast)", a recognition that exemplifies the commitment and dedication of our staff and the loyalty of our guests.
This year, we also culminated the completion of our crown jewel, Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa, and with it came the expansion of our dining options as we explored new flavors and culinary offerings within the property.
Los Cabos has earned a reputation for being one of the most diverse destinations in Mexico in the gastronomic front, feat that can be seen in Sabor a Cabo- our annual food festival taking place the second week of December. Our very own, La Roca at Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa is rated by TripAdvisor among the top five restaurants in Cabo San Lucas. To celebrate, we've dedicated this issue to showcasing the best Solmar has to offer for foodies. Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa Provides Guests with Multiple Gourmet Dining Options
Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa, located at the very southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula, continues to offer guests a stellar list of dining options. Boasting eight restaurants, all featuring fresh local ingredients and cuisine from around the globe, the resort welcomed three new establishments this year: a Deli Café, a Sushi Lounge and a luxurious Sports Bar.
The resort's centerpiece, La Roca, rated #3 in Cabos San Lucas by TripAdvisor, provides guests with savory dishes combining Baja and Mediterranean fare- all just steps away from the resort's private stretch of beach. In the winter months, guests can even spot humpback whales from their tables as they perform acrobatic jumps for everyone's delight.
Named after Solmar Hotels & Resorts' founder, Don Luis is an intimate, fine dining restaurant offering fresh fish and fine cuts accompanied by perfect ocean views. The restaurant keeps guests guessing with fun themed nights featuring international flavors from Italy to Argentina.
Those looking for tropical cocktails, fish tacos and poolside snacks in a low-key atmosphere will be in for a treat at Las Olas Pool Bar. There's no need to leave the pool, food is served right inside the water at Grand Solmar's comfortable swim-up tables.
Guests looking to keep up with their fitness routine and healthy eating habits can enjoy wraps, salads, smoothies and fresh juices at Las Brisas Snack and Pool Bar. The Sunset and Sunrise pools are perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying light fare and local beers.

Solmar Combines Food, Spa and Wellness
Offering one-of-a-kind beauty and food pairing services, Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa's Sea Spa is making a name for itself in Cabo's ever-growing spa scene.
The Sea Spa cabanas, perched upon the resort's surrounding natural cliffs, feature specialized post-treatment menus created by the resort's Chef Lucas including small bites and refreshing beverages complementary to each of the seven spa experiences offered at the resort.
Experiences include Moonlight to Remember, an 80-minute couples massage paired with watermelon blueberry mojitos, chocolate truffles with damiana liqueur (endemic to the Baja region), and citrus and basil ceviche among other delightful treats; the Royal Citrus Experience, a 110-minute facial/full body wrap complemented by orange margaritas, pineapple cake with rum, tangerine jelly with gin, mimosas and orange and chocolate cupcake; a resort favorite is the Embracing Life Experience, a 110-minute massage and express facial paired with a refreshing cucumber gazpacho, tomato, watermelon and panela cheese skewers, green sea bass ceviche, peach crumble, special ice tea and dark beer.

Spotlight: Elmo Quintero, Our Wine and Tequila Master
With over ten years of experience, no one knows wine and tequila better than Elmo, Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa's sommelier and tequila master. Elmo handpicks the best Mexico, and specifically the Baja region, has to offer for wine enthusiasts and pairs it beautifully with the dishes prepared at the resort's fine restaurants. In addition to local wines, Elmo curates Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa vault to incorporate options from all over the world, including Chile, Argentina, California, Italy and France.
Those who are looking for an authentic experience can join his Tequila tasting, at Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa, held every Tuesday and Friday from 5:00-6:00 p.m., where guests learn about the history, varieties, proper drinking method and food pairings of Mexico's famed spirit.
Elmo also leads a wine making and tasting classes, the perfect afternoon activity for honeymooners or solo travelers looking to mingle. During the three-hour experience, guests smash grapes the good ol' fashioned way and are presented with a selection of six wines paired with hors d'oeuvres, a delightful way to end the day and start the night. The wine making experience is held every Wednesday and Friday at 2:00 p.m. Reservations can be made via the concierge.

Savory Corner: Themed nights at Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa and Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa
Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa and Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa arrange nightly themed experiences for guests looking for an assortment of tasty culinary experiences.
Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa offers the delights of Italy every Monday at Don Luis Restaurant, as well as a moonlight Mexican culinary experience at Land's End Terrace every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. In addition, La Roca, known for its exquisite breakfast selections, displays a new concept every Sunday in their signature Sunday Brunch. Art enthusiasts and wine and cheese lovers will be in for a treat at the Cheese & Wine night, held every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Lobby Lounge.
Themed night selections at Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa include a Mexican Fiesta every Monday, Seafood Night on Tuesdays and a beach party on Wednesdays. Brigantine Restaurant offers a Mexican Grill Night on Fridays.
