It's always the right time for fishing in Cabo San Lucas. The deep Pacific Ocean waters off our shores teem with marlin, tuna, dorado, sailfish, swordfish, snapper, grouper, and more. Competitive fishing events dot the calendar throughout the year, but you can always charter your own boat for a fun, peaceful day on the water anytime.
Marlin and More
Cabo's known as the marlin capital of the world, and you'll be able to catch marlin year-round. Start the year with great runs of striped and blue marlin in January, and end the year with great fishing for striped, blue, and black marlin from September through December.
There's plenty of other fish in the sea, too. The best fishing in February is for yellowtail, and sierra and swordfish are great in March. The sierra fishing is great in April and May, too, when dorado come and stay through October. Snapper picks up in June, and sailfish and tuna start their peak runs in July. The water is full of bounty whichever month you visit!
There are fishing competitions in Cabo throughout the year. Still to come this year are the East Cape Dorado Shoot Out in July, Bisbee's East Cape Tournament in August, Los Cabos Billfish Tournament in October, Bisbee's Los Cabos Offshore in October, Bisbee's Black & Blue in October, and the Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot in November.
