With our fleet of cutomized boats, tell us your preference for size and type, and we can provide the boat that's right for you or your group. Solmar operates the largest and most experienced sporfishing fleet in Cabo San Lucas. The fleet is comprised of customized diesel powered sportfishers from 28ft. to 36ft. For details on our sportfishers or general fishing questions, see the links below and to the right. 

Solmar is pleased to offer our customers the most complete line of diesel powered flybridge cruisers available in Cabo. Boats range in size from 28’ to 36'. The size of your boat can be taylored to meet the comfort and number of passengers on the boat, and with single or twin engine cruisers. Solmar sportfishers are fully equipped with a Captain and mate, shade, 2 fighting chairs, live bait tank, additional seating for other passengers, interior cabin with table and bench seats, and bathroom. Cruisers are generally rigged to troll 3 or 4 lines in the water with one line hooked to a live bait kept in the bait tank until ready for use. Fishing tackle is of high quality, using Penn International reels and custom rods. Fishing line of 40, 50 and 80 lb. test is on board. Light tackle is generally not provided but welcome if you have your own. Safety equipment includes life jackets and VHF radios. These boats mainly target billfish including striped, black and blue marlin. Dorado, tuna and wahoo are also caught from these boats. Click on FLEET at the right.

Cabo is known for its big game fishing and boats sell out quickly. Once you decide on your boat and dates it is recommended you call our reservation office at 800-344-3349 to insure you get the boat and days you want. This office is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. west coast time, Monday through Friday. Solmar fleets local headquarters are located across the street from the Main Sport Fishing Dock in Cabo San Lucas. Office hours at this office are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. We also have a representative in the lobby of the Solmar Suites every evening from 6 - 7 p.m.

Food and drinks may be ordered direct with Solmar Fleet at check-in the night or day before and these will be on the boat when you arrive. These may be charged to your room bill ONLY if you are staying with us at Solmar Suites. If you decide to bring your own lunch and drinks, there is a cooler on board with ice for your use.

The fishing in the fertile waters off of Cabo San Lucas is truly great all year long. The Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez here and with many offshore underwater canyons and seamounts the water gets very deep very quickly. Our striped marlin population is abundant all year long and have earned Cabo the title of Marlin Capital of the World. February, March and April are favorites for these fish. Dorado, tuna and wahoo are also available at that time. In the summer months when the water warms the dorado and tuna action increases and peaks in the months of August, September, October, and November. The first two weeks of December can also be very good. Every year yellowfin tuna over 200 lbs and dorado over 80 lbs are brought to the dock. Big blue and black marlin migrate in at this time to feed on the smaller dorado and tuna and landing one of these fish in the 400-600 lb class is not unusual. Cabo is famous for it's fall marlin tournaments where total prize money can be over one million dollars!

It is encouraged by Solmar Sportfishing to release your fish unless it is to be brought in as a trophy (mounted). We will provide you with a beautiful gold embossed release certificate for your marlin. By agreement with the Sportfishing Association in Cabo San Lucas no more than 1 marlin per boat will be brought to the dock. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter in order to preserve this great gift of sportfishing in Cabo in the future.
