Every day is a party day in Cabo San Lucas; visit us on Cinco de Mayo, when there's extra reason for celebrating.
Despite what many think, the day isn't about Mexico's independence--that's marked on September 16, when the War of Independence began. Instead, Cinco de Mayo (May 5), marks the Battle of Puebla where the Mexicans held off the French army. Not only was this victory great for the Mexicans, it was good for Americans, because Napoleon planned to use Mexico to help the Confederacy during the US Civil War.
Today, Cinco de Mayo is an excuse for enjoying great Mexican drinks, including tequila and cerveza. You can swim up to the bar for your margarita or enjoy ocean breezes as you sip a drink at a beachside bar. Book a special package at Quinta del Sol and we'll greet you with a bucket of ice cold beer.
Head into downtown Cabo San Lucas, known for its nighttime energy and great nightlife throughout the year. You're sure to find a club with the music you like and dancing 'til dawn. Then return to your Solmar Hotels & Resorts property, where the crashing ocean is the music of the night. You'll sleep soundly in your luxury suite or villa, and wake ready to spend the next day exploring.
And there's plenty to explore and do here in Cabo. Stay on dry land and take a tour or explore by horseback, camel, mountain bike, or ATV; take to the air and explore by zip-line or parasail; or take to the water to fish, snorkel, surf, snuba, or ride in a submarine. There's so much to see and do that your Cinco de Mayo celebration requires much more than a single day!
